Aston Bolero and Chrichton Bale (pictured) are currently sitting top of the leaderboards in the Gippsland Sprint and Stayers Champion series.
Aston Bolero tallied 44 points after a win in the Gippsland Sprint during the first leg of the Gippsland Carnival at Sale. Winning a heat of the Warragul Cup and finishing second in the Group Two feature ensured a lengthy lead over Jesauleko who is sitting in second position on 27 points.
Aston Bolero is currently sitting $1.60 favourite on the TAB Gippsland Sprint Series (FOR TAB MARKET CLICK HERE)
The winner of the Gippsland Sprint Series will receive a $14,000 bonus. the second place getter will receive $4,000 and third place rounds out the bonus with $2,000.
Lara trainer Darren Fisher has heavily supported the Gippsland Carnival with his greyhound Chrichton Bale who finds himself in first place of the Gippsland Distance Champion on 43 points.
Chrichton Bale has placed in all four starts throughout the Gippsland Carnival at Sale and Warragul. He is also the TAB’s favourite to take out the Gippsland Stayers Series, with the TAB suggesting he is a $1.50 chance (FOR TAB MARKET CLICK HERE)
The winner of the Gippsland Stayers Series will take home their share of $15,000 (1st – $10,500, 2nd – $3,000 and 3rd – $1,500).
Saturday night at Cranbourne will see the third leg of the Gippsland Carnival kick off and possibly a change in leader board position.
